What holds the Kingstone range together

One steel grade across the cutlery
Every silverware set in the range is 18/10 stainless steel, the grade with ten percent nickel that resists corrosion and keeps its shine. Sets bought a year apart still match at the table, which matters when a household grows from four places to six.

Place settings, not piece counts
Sets are built around a place setting of five: dinner knife, dinner fork, dinner spoon, salad fork, teaspoon. Twenty pieces means four people, sixty means twelve. Counting by people rather than by pieces makes the jump between sizes obvious.

Three pieces per person in the china
Dinnerware follows the same logic: a dinner plate around ten inches, a salad or dessert plate around eight, and a bowl around six. A twelve-piece service therefore covers four people fully, and adding guests means moving up a size rather than buying odd extras.

German steel in the blades
The knife blocks use X50CrMoV15, a high carbon steel hardened to about 56 HRC and honed at fifteen degrees per side. Steak knives from the same steel appear inside three of the flatware sets, so the cutting edges on the table are the same grade as the ones on the board.
Materials, and how they are cleaned
Three materials cover the whole catalogue. Cutlery is 18/10 stainless steel, sometimes titanium plated for the black sets or given a food-grade black vacuum coating. Plates and bowls are either bone china, fired above 1300C with more than half bone ash, or reinforced ceramic and stoneware strengthened with alumina and magnesia.
Care instructions differ more than the materials do. Every silverware set is dishwasher safe, though the listings recommend hand washing to avoid fingerprints, and abrasive sponges are ruled out for the coated black sets. The china is dishwasher safe throughout, and several services are rated for the microwave and the oven as well; one bone china set states heat resistance to 482F.
Kids utensils are the strictest case. They are 18/10 stainless steel with no coating, rounded at every tip and corner, and the two sizes are marked by age rather than by name: from two years at 5.51 inches, from four years at 6.46 inches. The three-piece set that adds a knife is stated for five years and up.
| Cutlery steel | 18/10 stainless steel |
|---|---|
| Knife blades | German X50CrMoV15, about 56 HRC |
| China body | Bone china, over 50% bone ash |
| Ceramic body | Reinforced with alumina and magnesia |
| Dishwasher | Stated safe across cutlery and china |
| Oven and microwave | Stated on several china services |

Sizes and finishes change between listings
Piece counts, colours and block finishes are set per listing, so check the exact option before ordering.
Check the current optionsWhich set suits which household

A first flat, two places at the table
For a household of two, the six-piece china service is the smallest complete option: two dinner plates, two salad plates, two bowls, and nothing left over to store. Pair it with a twenty-piece cutlery set and the cupboard stays shallow.

A family that seats eight at Christmas
Eight places need forty pieces of cutlery and a twenty-four piece china service. Buying the larger size once avoids the mismatch that appears when a second set is added later in a different finish.

A toddler learning to feed themselves
From two years, the smaller 5.51 inch utensils fit a child's grip, and the rounded tips are the point of the design rather than a detail. Six-piece and twelve-piece packs exist because pieces go missing between washes.

A kitchen being equipped from scratch
A fourteen-piece block covers chef, bread, Santoku, boning, utility and paring knives plus six steak knives, with the sharpener built into the block. It is the one purchase in the range that replaces several separate ones.
What the range covers
This catalogue lists Kingstone tableware: flatware sets, china and ceramic dinnerware, kids utensils and kitchen knife blocks. It is an independent listing of the range, not the manufacturer's own site, and every specification here comes from the published product data.
The range is organised by table size rather than by collection name. Cutlery runs from four places to twelve, dinnerware from two places to eight, and the pattern repeats across materials: the same service appears in ivory, pink and blue, the same knife block in four finishes. Choosing therefore starts with how many people sit down, and only then moves to colour.
Two groups sit apart from the dinner table. Kids utensils are sized by age and stated free of sharp edges, and the knife blocks are working tools with hardened German steel. Both carry specifications the rest of the range does not, which is why they have their own pages here.
Where a listing states nothing — a warranty term, a coating detail, a certification — this catalogue states nothing either.
